Workshop: Introduction to Spatial Analysis in R

The “introduction to spatial analysis in R” workshop is held by Ecology and Evolution PhD program. This is a joint program between the school of BioSciences, school of Geography and school of Ecosystem & Forest Sciences. It gives the PhD students from different schools a chance to interact with each other and it also provides specialised workshops and short courses to improve their quantitative skills.

The workshop aims at providing an introduction to spatial data and common spatial analysis used by Ecology and Evolution student within R programming language. In the workshop, we will cover how to load and manipulate different types of spatial data (raster and vector), discuss the importance of projections, cover the basic analytic tools, and how to make maps in R. No prior experience in spatial analysis is required, but we use the newest developments in spatial R packages so even experienced users can benefit.

Date And Time: Tuesday, 23 July 2019, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
