Managing Data @ Melbourne
Managing Data@ Melbourne is the University’s new research data management training program. It consists of six short modules, which outline the fundamental practices of good data management. The Managing Data @Melbourne program targets Graduate Researchers (PhD, other doctorates, MPhil and masters by research) and aims to assist them to develop the skills they need to draft a research data management plan. The program also links to a new tool DMP Melbourne (an online data management planning tool)
The Managing Data@ Melbourne program is accessed via a new webpage: http://library.unimelb.edu.au/data
This page is linked on various locations: Researcher@Library pages, Workshops & Tours, and will be added to Doing Data Better site soon.
The program itself sits within an LMS Community.
Learning Environments recently enrolled all current GR candidates (5,000+), and to manage the rolling enrolments will enrol new GRs on a weekly basis.
While our target audience is GRs, all UoM students and staff may enrol in the Managing Data @Melbourne LMS Community. Additionally, the Vice-Chancellor has allowed us to release the program under Creative Commons, so people external to the university will be able can request access to the LMS Community.
If you or clients have any questions about the program please email the project team via managing-data@lists.unimelb.edu.au
